N

  • New LINQ Features: Added expressions like CountBy, which simplifies counting items grouped by a specific condition.
  • Improved Dependency Injection: Changes in the behavior of FromKeyedServicesAttribute ensure better consistency when resolving services in DI containers.
  • HttpClientFactory Enhancements: Header values in logging are redacted by default, improving security.
  • Environment Variable Support: Allows setting environment variables explicitly as empty strings, refining process configuration capabilities.
  • OpenAPI Enhancements: Better support for API documentation and integration.
  • Key Features in .NET 9

    Updates for Developers

    • 1. Applications using older frameworks (e.g., .NET 6 or earlier) should update to benefit from new features and because earlier versions like .NET 6 are no longer supported.
    • 2. For applications on Long Term Support (LTS) like .NET 8, you can remain on it if stability is a priority; .NET 9 has Standard Term Support (STS) and will be supported until May 2026.
    • 3. Upgrades require changes in the TargetFramework in your project file and updates to any related NuGet packages and Docker configurations (if used).
